It is native to South America but has been introduced to other parts of the world as an ornamental plant. The plant produces small, globe-shaped flowers that come in a variety of colours, including pink, purple, red, and white. The flowers are often dried and used in floral arrangements. The plant is easy to grow and is tolerant of a wide range of conditions, making it a popular choice for gardens and landscapes. It blooms all summer long and attracts bees, butterflies, and birds. It is also drought-tolerant and can be grown in poor soils.
